January 4 PATRIOTISM is having the courage to dream
Jesus said, “What is humanly
impossible is possible for God.”
Robert E. Sherwood was a speechwriter for President Franklin Roosevelt. He also won the Pulitzer Prize in drama three times. On one occasion – mustering all the drama at his command – he said we must dedicate ourselves to two objectives: the achievement of world peace and the affirmation of the right of every person to live as the image of God. He added, “To those who say that these unlimited objectives are unthinkable, impossible, let us reply that it is the alternative to them which is unthinkable, impossible.” He concluded by calling upon America to dedicate itself to the achievement of these unlimited objectives as boldly and as confidently as our forefathers, “who proved that… nothing undertaken by free men and free women is impossible.” ~ Mark Link, S.J. We Knights have remained true to our heritage of faith, fellowship and philanthropy. What dream do you have for the Knights that would continue to build on this proud heritage for future generations? Sir Knights, what were your aspirations when you attained the Fourth Degree? When you dream alone, it remains a dream, but when you dream with others, it can become a reality. ~ Kahlil Gibran
