CHARITY is a fool for Christ

For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.  ~ 1 Corinthians 1:18

I once saw a man in Los Angeles wearing a sign that said, “I’m a fool for Christ.  Whose fool are you?”
I thought at the time, “That’s the most stupid thing I’ve ever seen.” 
But one night many years later it would be revealed to me that God – who is more than just an image on a piece of wood – loved me.  And though I had shunned Him all my life, I realized my desperate need of Him.  It was then that I understood the truth of that odd sign I had seen years before: the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing.  
That night I knelt at the foot of the cross and believed in Jesus.  I have been a fool for Christ ever since.  ~ John Wimber, adapted
