October 1 ~ Respect Life Month

UNITY is setting aside the judgment of the world

Have nothing to do with profane myths and old wives’ tales. Train
yourself in godliness, for, while physical training is of some value,
godliness is valuable in every way, holding promise for both the
present life and the life to come.  ~ 1 Timothy 4:7-8

We can seek to set aside the valuations of the world which seem wrong and try to judge only by those valuations which seem right to us.  We need not seek the praise of the world.  We can be one of those who, though sometimes scoffed at, have a serenity and peace of mind which the scoffers never know.  We can feel God’s presence in the world, though God be often rejected because He cannot be seen.  ~ Fr. Pray that we may not heed too much the judgment of the world.  Pray that we may test things by what seems right, and what would reflect God’s values.

Today marks the beginning of Respect Life Month.  Though the Church’s stand on Life issues is unpopular in today’s society, we as Knights must remain steadfast to our core values.  How is our council calling attention to Life issues within our ranks, our parish, our community and our nation?
