November 7 PATRIOTISM is exercising the power to vote A nation will be strong and endure when it has intelligent, sensible leaders. ~ Proverbs 28:2 Susan B. Anthony was arrested in 1892 for demanding to vote in the presidential election in Rochester, New York. She knew the value of one vote. In 1649, one vote caused King Charles of England to be executed. In 1876, one electoral vote elected Rutherford Hayes president. In 1875, one vote changed France from a monarch to a republic. In 1886, one vote kept Andrew Johnson from being impeached as president of the United States. ~ Mark Link, S.J. Pray that the LORD may flood a superabundance of grace into the hearts of American voters so that their choice will reflect Your Will for the United States and a profound respect for human life. Should the Knights take a more aggressive stance to inform the electorate on critical issues, especially those pertaining to justice, human rights, and peace? Vote not as other men dictate, but rather like men with the interest of your country at heart. Vote according to the dictates of your own consciences. ~ Father Michael J. McGivney, Founder of the Knights of Columbus When I consider what tremendous consequences come from little things… I am tempted to think… there are no little things.~ Bruce Barton
