CHARITY is seeing with the heart

Whatever you did for one of the least important of these followers of mine, you did it for me!  ~ Matthew 25:40

An editorial began:  “A priest we know recently described his experience of being confronted by a beggar while eating at a fast-food restaurant.  The beggar said he was hungry, and the priest, intimidated and nervous, could only say, ‘I’m sorry,’ and look the other way.

Later, as the priest recounted the story, he was praying Psalm 80, ‘LORD, let me see your face,’ when the image of the beggar came to mind.

How many times have you seen the LORD and not recognized him?…

Christ simply appears before us:  hungry, cold and ill.
Once He was a condemned prisoner led to the slaughter for the sins of others.  Now He approaches us in McDonald’s smelling badly…  Do we see His face?”  ~ Our Sunday Visitor

What keeps us from seeing Jesus’ face in the people around us?
